Dr. Peggy Regis Robinson
DAOM, L.Ac.
Dr. Peggy Regis Robinson believes that choosing and maintaining wellness is empowering. A balanced mind, body and spirit are critical to living life to its fullest. Her Haitian heritage and upbringing and her deep connection to faith and family are what inspired in her a passion for humanitarianism and healing. Her earliest sense of self and purpose carried within it a firm resolve to help others. She began her adult life as a community organizer and activist, but soon holistic health care, and Traditional Chinese Medicine in particular became her focus. She saw first-hand the need for alternative healthcare modalities in the community and knew she could use her knowledge and skills to heal, both physically and mentally; and to empower.
Dr. Robinson is an Acupuncturist, Chinese Herbalist and Ethnobotanist licensed to practice in New York and North Carolina with degrees of Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science. Her focus with her patients is on using her decades of knowledge and expertise to compassionately discover and treat the root of a problem; not just its symptoms.
Dr. Peggy is a trusted women’s health practitioner with expertise in treating menstrual health, fibroids, perimenopause, menopause, fertility, and pain management associated with fibromyalgia and migraines. Peggy also provides support and care for expectant mothers from conception through pre and postnatal care. She is also a skilled ally in childhood wellness and family medicine. Dr. Peggy is specially certified in Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, and is an expert in Gua Sha, Cupping, Moxibustion and Holistic Facial care. Many patients have rediscovered their optimal range of motion, and natural vibrance under her loving hands and guidance. Peggy feels strongly about modeling and mentoring graceful aging, and imparts the wisdom of her own path to all those in her care. She offers nutritional counseling and individualized herbal preparations as well to assist with imbalances manifesting on the skin, in digestive health, or in mental or emotional wellbeing. Helping to restore balance and reignite that healthy glow in each patient is her purpose and her passion.
Dr. Robinson’s career continues to be grounded in her commitment to integrating holistic healthcare with activism. She regularly travels the world; learning about other cultures through their holistic medicinal traditions. Her passion for human rights has motivated her to develop health care programs, training and treatments that address the needs of numerous underserved communities and populations. Dr. Robinson has been heralded as a leader in her field and an expert trainer. As the former Director of the Integrative Wellness program at Greenhope Services for Women, (2003-2017) Dr. Robinson provided holistic health care and counseling to formerly incarcerated women to support their healing process and to empower them to reclaim their lives. She is committed to actively adopting holistic practices derived from her cross-cultural exchanges in the U.S. and abroad, including Sierra Leone, Haiti and the Dominican Republic. She is a dedicated member, facilitator, and trainer for Acupuncturist Without Borders where she trains acupuncturists to cultivate relief efforts worldwide. She works regularly with Capracare to teach and deliver the NADA ear Acupuncture technique for substance abuse and pain management. Most recently, Dr. Robinson was awarded the Leah K. Frazier Award, a highly distinguished honor given to individuals demonstrating a relentless commitment to global service.
During the Covid-19 crisis Peggy found new ways to heal through online workshops and tutorials in which she taught simple acupressure techniques and breathing for stress relief as well as Gua Sha for self care and recovery after those long days in front of a screen. She became a resource for her fellow parents around how to keep children focused, calm and joyful in uncertain times. She continues to offer online retreats for corporate and private clients and continues to lead and inform through blog posts and social media where seh regularly shares her thoughts, tips, and activism. As a Founding Partner and co-owner of Cornerstone Healing, Dr. Peggy’s life in healing practice has helped her to become a stronger wife, mother and caretaker. Whether Peggy is working with patients at Cornerstone Healing, or remotely treating women and communities that have endured trauma, she uses and teaches holistic techniques to help people regain dignity, control and agency of their bodies and their lives. Wellness makes a powerful difference.
