Using massage oil or lotion, therapists use long smooth strokes, kneading, and circular movements on superficial layers of muscle to release tension. Swedish massage therapy can be very gentle and relaxing. If you’ve never had massage before, this is a great place to start.
Tui Na Massage Tui Na (pronounced twee na) is a bodywork therapy that was developed in China over 2,000 years ago. This method uses hand techniques to massage the soft tissues (muscle and tendons) of the body, acupressure techniques to redirect the flow of Qi, and manipulation techniques to realign musculoskeletal relationships and ligaments. Tui Na is used for the treatment of specific musculoskeletal and chronic stress-related disorders of the digestive, respiratory and reproductive systems.
Aromatherapy Massage Aromatherapy massage is massage therapy that incorporates one or more highly concentrated plant oils, called essential oils, to address specific needs. The massage therapist can select oils that are relaxing, energizing, stress-reducing, cleansing, decongesting or balancing for an optimal massage experience. Aromatherapy massage is particularly suited for stress-related or emotional conditions.
Deep Tissue Massage Deep Tissue massage targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. Slower strokes or friction techniques are used across the grain of the muscle. Deep Tissue massage is used for chronically tight or painful muscles, repetitive strain, postural problems, or recovery from injury. People may feel sore for 1-2 days after treatment.
Pregnancy Massage Also called prenatal massage, pregnancy massage is becoming increasingly popular with expectant mothers. Pregnancy massage is used to reduce stress, decrease swelling, relieve aches and pains, and reduce anxiety and depression. The massage is customized to a woman’s individual needs.
Reflexology Reflexology is more than a simple foot massage. Reflexology involves applying pressure to specific points on the foot that correspond to organs and systems in the body. Reflexology is very relaxing, especially for people who stand on their feet all day or just have tired, achy feet.

The focus isn’t on relaxation but on preventing and treating injury and enhancing athletic performance. It helps to loosen muscles and increase flexibility. A combination of techniques are used including strokes that are generally faster than Swedish massage and facilitated stretching.
